In the US in 2026, fully managed IT for a small business typically runs about $100 to $250 per user per month, with most plans between $125 and $200. Co-managed support costs less, and hourly break-fix is commonly $150 to $250 an hour. These figures come from providers' own guides, so treat them as rough benchmarks.
The common pricing models
- Managed IT, per user: a monthly fee per person covering help desk, patching, monitoring and security tools. Guides cited by ThePricer and ARPHost put typical ranges at about $100 to $200 per user, and one survey average near $145.
- Co-managed IT: you have an internal person and an outside provider fills gaps. One guide gives about $65 to $120 per user.
- Hourly or block hours: $150 to $250 an hour is commonly quoted.
- Projects: fixed prices for migrations, security reviews and setups.
What quotes often leave out
- Servers, often $150 to $500 each per month
- Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace licenses
- Onboarding or setup fees
- After-hours coverage
- Hardware and security tools
How to compare quotes
Ask each provider the same five questions: What exactly is included? What are the response times? Who does the work? What is the contract length and exit cost? Do I own my accounts and documentation? A cheaper quote with a three-year term and unclear scope is rarely cheaper.
What I charge
My published prices start at $79 per user per month, below the typical managed range because I am one person with no 24/7 desk. That trade-off is spelled out on the pricing page.
